Charity lives Eternally

Posted by kathavarta on September 18, 2008

It was just a few weeks back, that we had shared with all of you a story,” How Much Land Does A Man Need? What do u think?

How should we live? Live only confined to our homes, needs, wealth assets? The answer is a big ‘NO’. We should live in such a way that people remember us even after our breathing ceases. Anybody can live selfishly, but to live with liveliness and spreading sunshine into others lives is as important as how people remember you after your death.

“It is more blessed to give than to receive” read this and I promise u shall soon begin a charitable act to make people remember for time and ages to go.

There was once a man who was very rich and very miserly at the same time. The villagers disliked him intensely.

One day he said to them, “Either you’re jealous of me or you don’t understand my love of money-God alone knows. But you dislike me; that much I know. When I die, I won’t take anything with me. I will leave it all for others. I will make a will, and I will give everything to charity. Then everyone will be happy.”

Even then people mocked and laughed at him.

The rich man said to them, “What is the matter with you? Can’t you wait a few years to see my money go to charity?”

The villagers didn’t believe him.

He said, “Do you think I’m immortal? I’ll die like everyone else, and then my money will go to charities.” He couldn’t understand why they didn’t believe him.

One day he went for a walk. All of a sudden it started raining heavily, so he took shelter under a tree.

Under this tree he saw a pig and a cow. The pig and the cow entered into conversation, and the man overheard what they were saying.

The cow said to the pig, “Look, I give them milk while I’m alive. They see that I am generous with what I have. But you don’t give them anything while you’re alive. Only after you’re dead do you give ham, bacon and so forth.

People don’t believe in the future; they believe in the present. If you give while you are alive, people will appreciate you. It is quite simple.”

From that moment on, the rich man gave all he had to the poor.

Charity lives an eternal life even after we cease. People remember us through what we have given to the society and around us, not what we hoard and keep it for ourselves. I have learnt this, take a look back on which you have hoarded so far; don’t stop. Begin your life by living for others. “Happy Starting of your Lives Again”

Moral:
Let your purse go empty but make your hearts filled with charity, happiness, bliss.

Try Try until you Succeed

Posted by kathavarta on September 18, 2008

Once 2 frogs fell in a can of milk and were unable to come out of the can.

The 1st frog stopped jumping and thought no one can save them and left trying.

But the 2nd frog started thinking something and in this process started swimming in the can round and round.

After some time the milk turned into butter and the frog sat on the butter and when the can opened it jumped out of the can and saved himself.

Moral:
God helps them who help themselves dont stop trying.

The wise Songbird

Posted by kathavarta on September 18, 2008

Once upon a time there was a golden songbird that lived in a beautiful garden. It spent all its days singing the loveliest songs to the honour of its maker and the delight of all the people who heard it.

But the keeper of the garden, who was a foolish and greedy man, coveted the little songster, and one day he made a cunning net in which he snared it. The little bird begged the man to release him and promised to tell him three great secrets if only he would let him go. Now the gardener really was a very greedy man and rubbing his hands together, he eagerly released the bird.

Then the songbird told him it’s three great secrets: Never believe all that you hear; Never regret what you have never lost, and never throw away that which you have in your keeping.

The gardener was furious when he heard this and said he had known these so-called ‘secrets’ since he was a little child and shouted that the bird had tricked him. But the songbird quietly replied that if the man had really known these three secrets, or only the last of them, he would never have let him go.

Then the bird added:”I have a most precious jewel weighing over three ounces hidden inside me and whoever possesses that marvellous stone will have every wish granted.”

On hearing this, the keeper roared like a lion and cursed himself for setting the songster free. But the little bird only added fuel to his rage by explaining that since he weighed no more than half an ounce at most, as anyone with eyes could plainly see, how was it possible that a gem weighing more than three ounces could be hidden within it’s tiny body?

At that the man tore his hair and lunged at the bird in a towering rage, but the little songbird flew to a nearby branch and added sweetly:”Since you never had the jewel in your hands you are already regretting what you never lost, and believing what I told you, you threw it away by setting me free.”

Then the little songbird told the man to study well these three great secrets and so become as wise as the bird himself!
